BLACK OP stepped forward today with a bold front running bid to get off the mark at the 3rd attempt over fences, although he was disappointing last season going into the season as one of the big novice chasing prospects, the form from his two chasing starts last season was rock solid. He returned after a wind op today and although a lot of Tom George’s animals can take a while to get going in to the season BLACK OP showed his class taking the field apart. Clearly one to watch for this season as a possible assault on the JLT at the festival, he was 16/1 earlier today for that race. What I really liked coming out of the race besides seeing BLACK OP run a solid race was how MR ANTOLINI stayed on to finish a good solid runner up, he is worth following up on in future races.
